Dr. Kumar received his Bachelors in Engineering (with Honors) and Masters in Industrial Management (with Honors) from the Indian Institute of Technology, and his Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Kumar is happily married to Aparna and blessed with two lovely daughters - Anita and Prita. Aparna is a dedicated homemaker using her master's degree in English Literature effectively by copy-editing Dr Kumar's books and articles for gratis. Anita is pursuing her Masters Degree after her graduation from New York University. She is happily married to Rohan. Prita is a senior at Stern, New York University. Both Anita and Prita keep their dad busy by competing for his time and attention.
